Mozambique, just the name sounds exotic. Although I saw very little of the country when we visited, there’s no doubt that this once war-torn country can’t stay under-the-radar for much longer. From the long arcs of cinnamon sand shelving into the Indian Ocean, to the heavenly mangoes that seem to fall from every tree, Mozambique makes the perfect post safari flop. Which is exactly what we did; after a marathon overland trip to Zimbabwe for a safari. Palm trees watched over the lagoon-like waters of the pool, coral coloured hibiscus flowers grew in abundance. We strolled on the beach as the sun sank lower, a golden orb in the hazy sky, as fishermen hauled in the day’s catch in large nets. I couldn’t have hoped for a better place to wind down, or a more obscure stamp to go in my passport.
Yes that water is nice, hence the smile.
Who doesn’t love the beach?
These guys certainly do
A nice spot for breakfast
And posing
Plus gardening comes with the added thrill of falling coconuts
And every post full of beautiful photos needs to end with a cheesy one
Thanks to Maya for the photos, and if you missed my Zimbabwe adventure, catch up here.
